July 24, 2022: Each day better than the last! Took off cycling later this morning around 9:30, arriving at Krems 45 miles away around 6:00, BUT along the way stopped at the gorgeous abbey at Melk to wander through bejeweled collections and the library nearly 800 years old. We cycled through vineyards and apricot orchards wondering if we would make it to the next stop in time to watch the Formula 1 race on TV. When I was so hungry I needed to stop somewhere for a meal, we saw a cafe in the small village of Weissenkirchen and sat at an outdoor table. My niece pulled out her iPhone with the F1 app for us to watch the race. The waiter noticed and told us it was also on the TV inside. We raced inside to watch, making friends over the next two hours with the women working at the cafe and one woman’s husband and his friend watching the race, too. When leaving we ran into the men from Prague again!! And FINALLY, after nearly having heat stroke in the last two Inns (with no air conditioning) during this incredibly hot summer, this hotel has air conditioning!!! Yay!! SO FUN TODAY!
